Totaku is ThinkGeek’s line of figurines that are similar to amiibo, but in scale only, as they have no other functionality besides looking cool. The other day 7 Totaku were announced and slated to launch on 3/23/18, but I had an interesting trip to GameStop where the manager unintentionally leaked 12 more figures planned for release.
I asked if the Totaku figures were available for pre-order, as I’m a bit of a sucker when it comes to these standardized figures of my favorite gaming icons. My intention was to pre-order every figure, and I told him so, watching his eyes light up before he stated:
“All 19? Dang man, you love PlayStation.”
Of course I was confused, we only knew of the 7 below:
- Crash Bandicoot (Crash Bandicoot)
- Kratos (God of War)
- Feisar FX350 (Wipeout)
- Sackboy (Little Big Planet)
- Heihachi (Tekken)
- Hunter (Bloodbourne)
- Parappa the Rapper (Parappa the Rapper)
So he printed out and gave me a list of all the planned figures.
I would usually assume this was just an error, but it makes sense they would have them in the system. ThinkGeek, owned by GameStop, are the ones releasing the toys which are exclusive to GameStop in the US.
To be fair I asked him twice more if he was sure I should have this list, and he assured me it was fine. I’ll share the picture of the list below, with the GameStop blacked out and covered by a sticky note just to be safe. The other 12 planned figures are:
- Blue Eyes White Dragon (YuGiOh)
- Artorias (Dark Souls)
- Atreus (God of War)
- Aloy (Horizon Zero Dawn)
- Watcher (Horizon Zero Dawn)
- Lemmings (Lemmings)
- Evan (Ni No Kuni)
- Sonic (Sonic the Hedgehog)
- SoT Gold Hoarder (?)
- Space Invaders (Space Invaders)
- Jin Kazama (Tekken)
- AG-SYS (Wipeout)
After asking Reddit what the SoT Gold Hoarder might be users Pyrocy779 and mitch079 made me aware that the initial lineup is PlayStation, but according to a GAME (Espana) tweet, more figures from other franchises would be coming. It roughly translates to:
SoT Gold Hoarder is apparently a Sea of Thieves figure from the Gold Hoarder faction.
What do you think of these figures? Sound off in the comments below.
