The weekend is a bastion of gaming goodness. For most of us working or going to school through the week this is our time to stay up late, or kick back all day, playing whatever tickles our fancy.
Once again the shackles of the work week are going to be loosened, and we harried many can stay up irresponsibly late gaming. So what will you be staring at blurry eyed during this weekend?
For me, this weekend will be filled with squids, kids, and pirates.
Sea of Thieves
Since this game launched, I just can’t get enough of it. I know there is a lot of critique out there that there isn’t enough content in the game, and I think that if you play to simply burn through to Pirate Legend you would be right. I’m very casually playing with my brother and friends whenever I have a chance, and I’ve yet to have a bad time.
I look forward to plundering enough treasure to earn my new hat, and maybe finally taking down a Skull Fort with my brothers.
Ni No Kuni 2
While a good deal of my time has been spent playing Sea of Thieves, when I can’t hook anyone into a multiplayer gaming session, then I’m making progress in the sequel to one of my favorite games of all time. I haven’t played far enough into the game to give my full impressions, but right now I’m not as enamored of it as I was its predecessor, but I still have a very long way to go in the story.
That being said, building my kingdom by completing side quests and getting new people to join my growing dynasty is an absolute joy. I can’t wait to continue my journey with the game, and hopefully some of the story beats start really pulling me in soon.
Splatoon 2
There are a few games I’m always down to play. Any time someone offers a game of Overwatch or Smash, I’m on board instantly. Splatoon 2 is also one of those games, and after a little hiatus I plan on jumping into this weekend’s Splatfest (even though I have no opinion on soccer vs baseball). I’m also looking forward to jumping into Salmon Run with my brother to tear up some Salmonids in one of the best horde modes out there.
Yeah, I said it.
So dear readers, what wonderful adventures will you be going on this weekend? Please let us know in the comments below, and have a fantastic weekend!
I’m not free much this weekend, but I might try to finish off A Way Out and maybe squeeze in a little more Far Cry 5 if I’m lucky. That’ll be about it though.

What are your thoughts on A Way Out? I’m incredibly interested in playing it.

I’m really enjoying it, and more importantly so is my wife. It’s apparently about 6 hours long which is a reasonable length for the price. There are a couple of flaws here and there, and it’s a bit more like a movie than a game a lot of the time. But the story is interesting and it’s very well presented. If you’ve got someone to play it with locally, I’d go for it!

I didn’t realize you could play it split screen as well as online. This game jumped up a bit on my list of things to get to!

I think it’s split screen even if you play it online. I’m pretty sure that’s a deliberate choice for the presentation.
