It is time once again to ask the most important question to gamers when it comes to their hobby this weekend: Whatcha’ Playin’?
The weekend is finally upon us again, and thus the promise of late nights and cool video games.
I’m kind of on a role lately. Earlier this week I polished off the campaign of Spider-Man, and then I finished a completionist run of The Messenger. This weekend is going to be about polishing off masterpiece games, swinging towards that sweet Platinum, and lots of colorful ink.
Hollow Knight
Now that I’ve polished off The Messenger all of my portable time is going to go towards finishing this game off. I’m in that sweet spot in a Metroidvania of being able to go and complete it anytime you like, but instead I’m working on collecting everything I’ve missed so I can get the best ending of the game.
Spider-Man
I rarely get Platinum trophies, I just don’t have the time to commit to them like I used to. That being said if I really love a game and the trophy list is doable, I’ll make that extra stretch to get there. Honestly, I just don’t want to quit playing Spider-Man, so I’m going to keep pushing until I get there. It really is quite a well done trophy list, with nothing far outside of what you would want to do anyway if you were getting every spare drop of Spidey goodness out of this game.
Splatoon 2
I have two absolute favorite multiplayer games: Overwatch and Splatoon 2. This week I’ll be coating stages in that sweet, sweet ink as I rep for the modern side of things in the new Turf War. I’m excited to see how the new 4.0 update impacts things, as now you can team up with your friends and you don’t have to have a full team of four. That has always been something sorely missing from the game, so I look forward to owning some retro reppin’ squid kids with my brother this weekend.
Well, that does it for me. What will you be up to this weekend?
Aaaah I don’t even know! I finished the whole Life is Strange series in a weeklong binge, and I’m in this game hangover state where I can’t find a new game to get invested in. Next week, the first episode of Life is Strange 2 comes out and I can get a new fix, but until then, no idea. I may spend my weekend on Minecraft mourning how I can never play through Life is Strange for the first time again!
If anyone has any suggestions for good palate cleansers after a game destroys you emotionally, I’d love to hear it!

I’ve played the very start of the series and was intrigued, but never followed it through for some reason. I need to get on that.
Have you played that free extra, the Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit? It is supposed to explore a space in between the two games, so I’m sure you’ve already played it, but if not there you go!

Update: I started Grim Dawn last night and I’m hooked! I never play ARPGs for the story, so it’s perfect for mourning a video game!

Haha roblox is fun, free and easy. It’s like Minecraft but instead of building, it’s a bunch of mini games. I was stuck on a Tower Defense game the past 2 days. Also there are escape rooms where you have to go through obstacles to get out. Pretty relaxing and fun.

I’m hoping to play a bit more Yakuza 0. I keep playing Picross games again so I’ll probably end up on one of them.

I love pic cross! They’re so easy to play when you have a few spare minutes, and quite satisfying to finish.

I love Picross as well. It’s so good to finish them off and I keep wanting to finish one more after I have completed one every time I end up playing.

I’ve been hooked on World’s Biggest Pic Cross on my phone for ages. Free to play and the unlock system isn’t obnoxious. Hats for when I don’t have access to the ones I bought on Switch.

*takes notes to check that out later* I love the ones on the Switch except the Mega Picross bits (on Picross S and S2) which I don’t like as much but I am still working my way through them.

There’s rather a lot of them on the system, but it’s such an easy to make puzzle type that you could pick any game and not go far wrong.

I know that’s what I love haha. There are so many to choose from and all are enjoyable.

I’m very much with you on Spider-Man. Every time there’s a side activity, I want to go and do it simply because moving and fighting are so satisfying. I doubt I’ll platinum it (I never do!) but I’m going to be doing a TON of side content.
Besides that, I’ve had some expansions to the Dark Souls board game delivered, and I’ve had a muster board game delivered for review which I’m looking forward to trying. Here’s to the weekend!

I hate to admit it but I’ve been playing Roblox, specifically this tower defense game. Now my friends and I are looking for an actual tower defense game to play. I did play a few rounds of Overcooked 2 in online versus mode, but I expect to be playing the Tower Base game in Roblox all weekend lol. Have fun with Spiderman!
