It is time once again to ask the most important question to gamers when it comes to their hobby this weekend: Whatcha’ Playin’?
After missing posting last week’s Whatcha’ Playin’ I’m immensely stoked to jump in this weekend. I have a three day weekend planned currently, and it is going to be absolutely chocked full of awesome video games.
Red Dead Redemption 2
There really is no escaping this monolithic title, and I did end up falling prey to the hype and purchasing it last weekend. So far my thoughts are mixed on it, and I’m really struggling with some of the slower mechanics. On the other hand, the game is a technical masterpiece the likes of which the gaming world has never seen, with a world so vibrant and alive you can’t help but gape at it.
I plan on getting to put a good chunk of time and shoring up my thoughts on it this weekend.
Diablo 3: Eternal Collection
This will be the third time I’ve bought this game, and I’m not even partially ashamed of triple dipping here. Diablo 3 on the go sounds like devilish fun, and an absolutely perfect addition to the little hybrid Switch’s library. All of the Zelda flair being added to this edition is just icing on an already delicious cake, and one I plan on consuming all weekend long.
Tulsa Pop Culture Expo
What is that you say? You’ve never heard of Tulsa Pop Xpo the game? Well that is because it isn’t a game, it is the first merging of an epic event I’ve attended two years in a row now. Previously this event was called simply Games Xpo, but it is merging with a larger pop culture convention in order to grow.
I’ve played some of the best indie games out there years before they came out, and I’m really looking forward to doing so again this year. I’m also stoked to see Bit Brigade and Mega Ran in concert again, but most of all I’m excited because Home Button will be covering the event as a media presence!
Well there you have it, my weekend is sorted. Are you planning to put any time into these games, or do you have anything else on the agenda?
Most importantly if you happen to be a gamer attending the convention this weekend I would love to meet you! Just hit me up on Twitter via DM or in the comments below, and let me shake a loyal reader’s hand!
Have a great weekend!
In between writing papers for college, I plan on getting more hours in with No Man’s Sky. I bought it on the Steam Halloween sale, and so far I’m *loving* it, even if the controls are taking some getting used to.

I bought it day one and was so bitter about the product then I’ve never gave it another chance. Perhaps I should.

Diablo III and RDR2 are what I want to play… so far all I’ve done though is play Tengen Tetris and wrapped up Red Dead Revolver (for whatever reason).

You have to get that cowboy fix somewhere.

I’m playing AC Odyssey and loving it, but the open world can be a little overwhelming at times. I was going to start a new Final Fantasy, but I actually remembered that I left my copy of Disgaea 2 half-finished, so I’m polishing that one off when I need a break from open world gaming.

Polishing off Disgaea 2 could mean a hundred more hours lol.

Probably not in my case. I’m going through the series, but I’m not going to do the crazy post-game grinding until I get to the newer games (4 and 5) because I know they have some really fun mechanics and quality of life improvements. I’m mostly playing the older games so I recognize characters when they make cameos later.
